Statement

Nothing else gives me the possibility to reflect what I have seen and felt inside better than painting. It is never just a reflection of a scene but much more. The object goes through a process of visual internalization and interpretation of emotions and memories. Finally, put on canvas the painting allows you hopefully not just to see but to feel the scene in the way I did. Every peace of art contains a piece of the artist itself. If you look through my collection you will see places I`ve been, landscapes, trees, plants and animals. Nearly everything has a close relation to nature. The scenes are never loud but quiet, showing simple things, focusing on their beauty if you take time to look at them. You will see the play of light, reflections, changing colors, although random fitting into a harmonic unit. If a painting comes alive and the edges of the painting dissolve and the areas beside become fill up with your very personal imagination, if you feel the rest and peace in being a part of nature, my intention is reached.

For my paintings I apply different styles, sometimes very realistic sometimes more abstract, even within the same painting. Some elements will even remind you of watercolor paintings. The style I chose depends on the needs of the scene and what I want to put in focus. The same is true for the techniques and the different mediums I use, you will see areas built up by glazing layers alongside with thick layers worked out with the palette knife or dry brush.
